FDA Head Self-Quarantines After Exposure To Somebody Who Has COVID-19

FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn will self-isolate for two weeks after coming in contact with somebody who was diagnosed with COVID-19.

"As Dr. Hahn wrote in a note to staff today, he recently came into contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19. Per (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines, he is now in self-quarantine for the next two weeks. He immediately took a diagnostic test and tested negative for the virus," FDA spokesman Michael Felberbaum said in a statement.

While the White House did not say who Hahn came in contact with, three officials from the Trump administration told Politico that he met with Vice President Mike Pence's press secretary, Katie Miller, on Thursday during a meeting with the White House coronavirus task force. Miller received a positive diagnosis on Friday (May 8), just two days after a personal valet for President Donald Trump tested positive.

The White House tested everybody who came in contact with Miller, including her husband, Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller and said that all of the tests came back negative.
