Stevie Nicks Reveals New Song 'Show Them The Way' In Two Versions

Stevie Nicks has unveiled a new single with two drastically different versions.

"Show Them the Way" is the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's first new music release in six years.

The A-version of the song is produced like a contemporary pop tune and features Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums and the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart on guitar.

The B-version is a stripped down arrangement of the song with just acoustic piano and Nicks' vocals.

"Show Them the Way" began as a poem, inspired by a dream Nicks had before the 2008 presidential election. Nicks told the Los Angeles Times that she dreamed she was singing at a benefit that included Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, Robert Kennedy and John F. Kennedy.

Nicks shared the poem "The Kennedys" publicly the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated. She sent it to Senator Ted Kennedy later in 2009 year when he fell ill.

While the Fleetwood Mac singer also penned music to her poem at the time she wrote it, she only recorded it as a song recently, hoping it would offer a sense of comfort during a "very strange and dangerous time."

A forthcoming music video for the song was directed by Cameron Crowe.

"Show Them the Way" is not advertised as being included in Nick's upcoming concert film from her 2017 '24 Karat Gold' solo tour. The album for the film arrives on October 30, while the film will be screened in theaters Oct. 21 and 25.
