Tyler Johnson Leads Bolts To Win Over Bruins

The Tampa Bay Lightning won their second round robin game of the Stanley Cup Playoff tournament, getting a 3-2 win over the Bruins on Wednesday afternoon.

For the second consecutive game, the Lightning got started well. Brayden Point scored his first goal of the tournament at the 7:37 mark of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Alex Killorn added on, scoring early in a Tampa Bay power play to give the Bolts a 2-0 lead midway through the first period.

Such would be the score heading into the second period, and for much of the second period, until Charlie McAvoy broke through at the 16:43 mark of the second period. From there the Bruins tied the game early in the third period - just 1:47 into the frame, Chris Wagner scored the equalizer.

From there Tampa Bay locked things down, as Andrei Vasilevskiy came up with some huge saves down the stretch of this game. All told Vasilevskiy finished with 25 saves on 27 shots on net in getting the win. As the third period wound down, it would be Tyler Johnson coming through with the huge game winning goa with 1:27 left in regulation to pick up the victory.

The Lightning now have earned four points through the first three games of the Round Robin play - and look ahead to a matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers to wrap up Round Robin play on Saturday. Game time is still to be determined, but will be heard in its entirety on News Radio WFLA.
