The Winnipeg Jets (11-1-0) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (7-5-0) 7-4 on Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg.
The Lightning built a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to goals from Brandon Hagel and Brayden Point, before Point left the game at the 11:13 mark of the first period and did not return. Winnipeg then scored the next three to take a 3-2 lead before Mitchell Chaffee scored late in the second period to tie the game 3-3.
Both teams traded goals to make it 4-4 before the Jets took a 5-4 lead at the 7:38 mark of the third period. The Jets scored two empty-netters to make it a 7-4 final score.
The Lightning are next in action when they travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues on Tuesday night. Puck drop Tuesday is scheduled for 8:00 PM in St. Louis.
