The Philadelphia Flyers (5-8-1) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (7-6-1) 2-1 on Thursday night at Amalie Arena. It was the fourth straight loss for Tampa Bay.
Nikita Kucherov scored the only Lightning goal in the first period. The Flyers answered when Owen Tippett scored at the 15:44 mark of the third period, and the game would be tied 1-1 going into overtime.
After neither team scored in OT, the game headed to a shootout. Philadelphia made both of their shots in the shootout, while Tampa Bay missed both and the Flyers earned the win.
The Lightning are next in action when they host the Winnipeg Jets next Thursday. Puck drop on November 14 between the Jets and Lightning is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
