Martin County, FL - A 75-year-old Florida man, Alberto Nunez-Arias, was arrested by the Martin County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, facing disturbing charges of predatory behavior towards children, including allegedly utilizing animals to lure them into his home in Stuart.
The arrest follows accusations of Nunez-Arias exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl in August 2022, with claims that he used a lost dog as a means to entice her inside.
Chief Deputy John Budensiek stated that Nunez-Arias, described as an "absolute pervert," had made sexual advances on the victim and potentially others, using threats to silence the young girl.
Deputies suspect this incident is not isolated and believe Nunez-Arias used various animals, including dogs, cats, and chickens, for similar purposes.
Authorities seized 28 animals from his residence, transferring them to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast.
The humane society, now burdened with 209 animals, exceeding its capacity of 150, urgently seeks adopters. Nunez-Arias is held on a $200,000 bond at the Martin County Jail, with authorities urging potential additional victims, regardless of age, to come forward and assist in further investigations.
