FLORIDA - Florida residents can purchase qualifying outdoor equipment without paying sales tax through the end of the year.

Florida’s 2026 Hunting, Fishing and Camping Sales Tax Holiday began September 1st and continues through December 31st.

The exemption covers state sales tax and local discretionary sales surtaxes on eligible hunting, fishing and camping products.

The Florida Legislature approved the temporary tax holiday, which was signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Qualifying hunting supplies include ammunition, pistols, rifles, shotguns, bows and crossbows.

Certain firearm accessories, including barrels, cases, range bags, cleaning kits, holsters, magazines, sights, optics, stocks, slings, suppressors and triggers, are also exempt.

Eligible bow and crossbow accessories include arrows, bolts, quivers, releases and wristguards.

The state did not establish price limits for qualifying firearms, ammunition, bows, crossbows or listed hunting accessories.

Camping supplies are subject to specific price limits.

Tents qualify when priced at $200 or less. Sleeping bags, portable hammocks, camping stoves and collapsible chairs must cost $50 or less, while flashlights and camping lanterns must cost $30 or less.

Fishing rods and reels qualify when priced at $75 or less individually or $150 or less as a set.

Tackle boxes and bags priced at $30 or less are included. Bait and fishing tackle qualify at $10 or less individually or $20 or less when multiple items are sold together.

The holiday does not apply to rentals, repairs, commercial-use purchases or commercial fishing supplies.

Eligible items sold at theme parks, entertainment complexes, public lodging establishments or airports also remain taxable.
